What is a short break?
What time do we collect and return the boat?
Boats can be collected at 2.30 pm and must be back by 9.00 am to be vacated by 9.30 am.
Where can I leave my car?
Outdoor parking is provided for your car.
Do you provide the bedding and towels?
We provide all bedding and towels. Extra pillows are available on request.
Should I bring my hair dryer?
All our boats come equipped with a 12 volt hair dryer so that’s one less thing to pack!
So the boats are really well equipped?
Yes! All our boats have central heating, spacious well-equipped galleys with electric fridges and gas cookers, colour televisions, radio/CD players, and spacious shower rooms for your comfort.
What about fueling the boat?
The price you pay is inclusive of fuel.
What if we have never been boating before?
Don’t worry! About half of our guests have never been in a narrow boat before. We will give you instruction on safe boat handling and operation. Each boat also has a comprehensive Skipper’s manual as a guide during your holiday.
Do I need to be able to swim?
Canals are intrinsically safe places and are not very deep. We do advise that you wear life jackets even if you can swim. Life jackets are available free of charge and should be requested on arrival.
Can I bring my dog?
We welcome well-behaved dogs (maximum of two per boat) but regret that cats are not permitted. A small charge is made to cover the additional cleaning that is required (see price list).
Will I be warm enough?
All our boats have central heating to keep you warm throughout the year.
Can I bring a bicycle?
Yes. There is limited roof space on the boats and you must protect the roof paint from damage.
Can we recharge mobile phones, tablets, laptops and video cameras?
All our boats have 12-volt lighter sockets and small 240-volt inverters are available. Bring your home charger and in-car phone charger ( if you have one) so you can charge your equipment.
